Frequently Asked Questions:
What times are you open?
We are open Weekdays, 5am - 10am and again from 3pm-6:30pm and Saturdays, 8am-930am
Do you have set start times for sessions?
No, you book a start time that fits in with your day.
Do I have to keep the same day and times each week?
No, I take bookings every Thursday for the following Monday to Saturday so you can organise your week first then book times to suit.
Are the sessions 1 on 1?
Every session is designed specifically for each person, there may be other ladies in the gym doing their own sessions at the same time as you, but you do NOT work out together. You will always have a trainer guiding you through your workout.
What makes you different from other ladies’ fitness centres and gyms?
We are more of a holistic wellness centre than just a gym. This is a program that works with each individual to get their nutrition right, to teach them about foods and how to fuel their body correctly. Jo writes each person a custom Nutrition Plan that they help design around the foods they choose and any metabolic condition they may have. Training sessions in the gym focus on strength, toning and weight loss depending on each person's goals and abilities. Your mental health is also an important part of the journey and Jo is there to help with this also. We are not open for general use of the gym, only personal training sessions.
What happens when my program finishes, can I continue?
Yes, I have some ladies that have been with me for years. You can choose to stay on and either pay week to week, or buy sessions in bulk to use as you wish. We can also write you a program to follow at home or if you choose, to move onto a public gym.
I have an injury or physical condition, can I do the program?
We work with all injuries and conditions and adjust your workouts to rehabilitate and strengthen problem areas, or to suit any restrictions you may have.
I have had gastric surgery and cannot eat a lot, can you still help me?
Yes absolutely, learning about your nutrition is very important after surgery, a lot of women put weight back on after losing it instead of maintaining it, this is usually due to a lack of knowledge.
I am on high blood pressure medication, is this program safe for me?
Yes, as we start you gently and do not get your heart rate too high, these sessions are perfect. I do recommend you have your blood pressure checked regularly with your Dr, as weight training will help to lower your blood pressure and you may need a medication adjustment.
How do I know this is the program for me?
That is easy. Do you really want to change your lifestyle and become healthier? Do you need accountability and someone to push you along? Does the thought of going to a public gym or big group class give you anxiety? Have your tried to do it yourself and failed? If you answered yes to these things then Yes, this is the program for you. Every woman that comes to my gym is there to feel good in her own skin, nothing more, nothing less.
Can I do a trial session?
Unfortunately, not. Every session is designed specifically for each stage of the program, it is not something you can try out once.
I have never stepped foot in a gym in my life and I am scared, is this normal?
Absolutely, most of the women that come to me say the same thing and come in very nervous but within 5-10 minutes they have relaxed and felt right at home.
Is weight training safe for older women?
Yes and it is also important! As we age our bodies begin to breakdown, muscle especially, and unless we keep ourselves strong, we will become frail and weak in later life.
Weight training keeps you strong with good balance and posture. I believe every woman should do some sort of weight training.
The old adage, use it or lose it, is very real.
